Business License Registration
As far as the Law of Tanzania is concerned as per the Business and Licensing Act, it requires every Entity to have a valid Business License issued by respective Authority so as be able to operate business in Tanzania. The Authorities which have the mandate are Business Registration and Licensing Agency for Class ‘A’ Business Licenses and Local Government Authorities for class ‘B’ licenses.
Procedures and Document Required So As To Obtain Business License In Tanzania
- Establishment of Business Premise
- Registration of a Company or Business name to the respective Authority which is BLERA
- Registration for Tax identification Number (TIN) to the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA)
- Application of Business License at the Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment (MITI) OF Local Government Authorities (LGAS)
- Payment of Business License fee depend on the type of business
Document Requirements
- Certificate of incorporation
- Memorandum and Article of Association
- Company TIN
- Tax Clearance Certificate
- Lease agreement
- Power of Attorney in case the shareholders of the Company is non-Residents
- Photocopy of passport or birth certificate or Affidavit for the Tanzania Citizen and photocopy of Residence Permit class A for non- citizen
